Founded in 1886, we are proud to be one of Vancouver’s oldest cultural societies - and home to the city’s longest-running social tradition, the St. Andrew’s Ball.
But don’t let the history fool you! We’re not stuck in the past.
We’re a lively, welcoming community that brings people together through music, dancing, and a shared love of Scottish culture (with plenty of laughs along the way).
At our core, we’re about connection.
Whether you’ve got Scottish roots or just fancy trying something new, you’ll find yourself right at home. No experience needed - just bring a bit of curiosity and a willingness to join in. From ceilidh dancing to social gatherings, everything we do is built around creating a space where people can meet, celebrate, and have a genuinely good time.
For over a century, Vancouverites have gathered under the banner of St. Andrew to celebrate with music, dancing, and good company.
What started in the early days of a newly rebuilt city has grown into a tradition that continues to this day, evolving with each new generation while keeping its spirit firmly intact.
From first-time ceilidh dancers to long-time Ball attendees, people come for many different reasons: the dancing, the music, the traditions, or simply the chance to spend an evening among friends old and new.
